Nelson Tabingo, Treasurer

Nelson Tabingo joined the Central California Conference team as Treasurer several years ago . He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Mountain View College and a M.A. in Business Administration from Far Eastern University. His experience spans a multitude of countries, continents and cultures, providing him - and thereby, us - with a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills.

Mr. Tabingo began his full-time service to the church in 1969, at Mountain View College in the Philippines, as an accountant and part-time instructor, where he also met his wife, Lucille. He worked at his alma mater until 1980, serving first as Treasurer, then Associate Business Manager. The Tabingo family's next assignment was Middle East College in Beirut, Lebanon, where he served as Chairman of the Business and Liberal Arts departments for four years. From 1984-1991, he was Secretary-Treasurer of the Middle East Union, headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. And in 1991, the Tabingo family moved across the ocean to Oshawa, Ontario where he served as an internal auditor and then as Treasurer of the Ontario Conference.

The Tabingos have three grown daughters: Nelu, Julie and Cyd, and are the proud grandparents of one grandson, Ethan.

Claudia Arias, Secretary to the Treasurer

Claudia enjoyed her work as a paralegal in San Francisco, CA and was uninterested in the call to work at the Conference office.  "Pastor Raul Gonzalez used to call me and asked me to apply to every position open at the Conference; however, my answer was-no thanks, I am very happy working with attorneys."

One morning, Pastor Gonzalez called Claudia at her office and asked her to add an announcement in church bulletin.  Hispanic Ministries Director was looking for a secretary.  Claudia, a native Spanish speaker, visualized her future working for God and with God helping the Spanish speaking Adventist community.  She then consulted with her husband, Mauricio.  They both asked God for a sign and infact, the Lord answered their prayers and she understood that God was calling her to CCC! She joined the Hispanic Ministries department in April 2007. "I am so sorry that I did not come to CCC sooner," says Claudia, "Thank you Pastor Raul Gonzalez for guiding me in my spiritual life and now in my professional."

In 1988 she graduated in a small country in Central America as a bookeepper.  When God called her to work for Treasurer department she accepted the call. Her responsibilities include assisting churches and schools with loan applications, processing parsonage reports, general office duties, and assisting the treasurers. She also helps churches and schools save money on taxes by sending out (501)c (3) letters to businesses they are making purchases from.

One year after she moved to Clovis, her sister and two nephews moved from San Francisco to Clovis, "God makes everything perfect, He brought me to Clovis first, then my family, so that they could find a house to live" says Claudia.

One of her many favorite scripture is 1 John 2:1, "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."
